Oli Elia
Oli has been a full time independent lampworker for over 20 years. Having learned to blow glass in California in the mid 90's, he, like most New Englanders, returned to his home town of Scituate, MA in 2000. Since then he has been conducting public demonstrations at fairs and festivals around New England. He has seen lampworking undergo a renaissance in this time with an out pouring of interest by independent american artists who have fueled the development of better materials, refinement of tools, integration of techniques, and a general flipping of the script of what is considered "art" by a previously ensconced establishment.
